Copies of Marianne magazine with the cover story ‘Sarkozy: what the big media don’t dare or don’t want to say’ have been flying off the shelves this week. The weekly said it had initially sold 300,000 copies and then put an extra 60,000 copies on sale on Wednesday, which quickly diusappeared. A punchy persona with a short temper and an apparent inability to accept criticism, Sarkozy has in vain tried to shake the image that makes people afraid. He is now claiming his isn’t ashamed to provoke fear, telling TF1 that worries about de Gaulle, Mitterrand and Chirac never stopped them being elected. ‘Fundemantally it’s s good sign,’ he claimed on Monday. Hmmmm….
